The Joint Research Centre (JRC) and representatives of the automotive industry are to work together to reduce emissions from motor cars. The agreement between the JRC, EUCAR (European Council for Automotive Research and Development) and CONCAWE (Oil companies European organisation for environment, health and safety) to work to this goal will be signed on Friday 12 May in Brussels. The move represents a step forward in emissions reductions as it will involve improving not only the fuels and lubricants but also the car engines.
