At its meeting in Strasbourg on 14 November 1994, the European Parliament's Committee on Research, Technological Development and Energy (CRTDE) adopted opinions on the remaining eight specific programmes implementing the Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development (1994-1998). The specific programmes concerned were the following: - Environment and climate; - Biomedicine and health; - Biotechnology; - Transport; - Dissemination and exploitation of research results; - Nuclear fission safety; - JRC (EAEC); - Controlled thermonuclear fusion. The opinions on the specific programmes will now go to the plenary session of the European Parliament for debating and voting on 17 November 1994. The outcome of the vote will determine when the programmes can be sent to the Council for adoption and, consequently, when the European Commission can launch calls for tender for these programmes. The CRTDE has now adopted opinions on all of the specific programmes dealing with each of the four activities of the Fourth Framework Programme and of the European Atomic Energy Community Framework Programme.
