The resolution calls on Member States and the Commission to work towards the achievement of the following objectives: - Reorganization in the pharmaceutical sector to meet new challenges within Community rules; - Continuing high-quality research and innovation in the European pharmaceutical sector; - Increased assistance for SMEs in the pharmaceutical sector; - Full implementation of the internal market in the area of pharmaceuticals; - Promotion of greater transparency in the pharmaceutical market; - Encouragement of competition in the pharmaceutical market; - Increased cooperation with third countries, particularly EU applicant countries; - Improved access to third-country markets for Community pharmaceutical producers.
