MEDIA II - Development and distribution
The European Commission, DG X, has published a call for proposals for the implementation of its programme of encouragement for the development and distribution of European audiovisual productions (MEDIA II - Development and Distribution, 1996-2000). The objectives of the programme comprise, inter alia: - The reinforcement of the European distribution sector in the field of film and video productions; - Encouraging the transnational distribution of European films and the networking of agents; - Promoting the circulation of European television programmes; - Support for the multilingualism of audiovisual and film productions. This call is addressed to European companies whose activities contribute to the above-mentioned objectives, in particular European companies involved in the distribution of film and audiovisual material, video producers, television broadcasting companies and independent producers.
