Euroabstracts - February 1997
The February 1997 edition of "Euroabstracts", providing information and abstracts of RTD-related publications from the European Community, has recently been published. The first section gives brief summaries of a number of publications relating to RTD policy within the EU, in third countries and in international organizations. In this issue these include articles on "technology watch" activities and scientific assessment in different countries, as well as articles about biotechnology, nanotechnology and EUREKA. "EC Briefing" spotlights a number of recent EU publications, including the Innovation Action Plan, reports and evaluations of the specific programmes, and information on information sources, partnerships and promotion of RTD programmes. Major features in the February issue look at intellectual property rights for electronic publishing, the CORDIS service, and publications from the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the Commission's Joint Research Centre. The "Webwatch" section looks at World Wide Web information services specifically targeted at SMEs, including the CORDIS SME pages and the European Business and Innovation Centre Network. Section II includes abstracts of over 300 recent Community publications on research, science and technology, covering a wide range of subjects, including: earth sciences; engineering and technology; energy; life sciences; materials; mathematics; computers and telecommunications; nuclear science and engineering and physics.
