The European Commission, ISPO, has published an overview of promotional actions being undertaken within the framework of the European Survey of the Information Society (ESIS). The activities covered in the list include public, semi-public and private actions, undertaken at European, national and regional levels. Examples of activities include: - Calls for proposals aimed at stimulating the creation of new projects in the Information Society. These projects may be of wide scope, or focused on specific actors and activities; - Surveys, studies, inventories and observatories; - Communication actions such as organization of meetings, seminars, forums or workshops, launching of new magazines, and implementation of new specialized servers aimed at stimulating creation of new projects and strengthening data and knowledge transfer; - Expertise: creation of new coordination, evaluation or promotion bodies, creation of associations promoting the use of new technologies; - Publication of reports, White Papers, major announcements and speeches. The inventory of activities is classified both by type of action, and by country, allowing users to find rapidly those actions which interest them.
