The European Commission, DG XII, has published an invitation to tender, within the framework of the Targeted Socio-economic Research (TSER) programme, relating to studies aimed at collecting information on local initiatives for combating social exclusion. The tender relates to the carrying out of ten studies aimed at collecting relevant information on European strategies in the field of social exclusion, in order to set up and operate a European database on local initiatives for combating social exclusion. This invitation to tender is divided into ten lots, each relating to one of the Member States of the European Union, as follows: - Lot 1) Austria; - Lot 2) Belgium; - Lot 3) Denmark; - Lot 4) Finland; - Lot 5) France; - Lot 6) Ireland; - Lot 7) Italy; - Lot 8) Luxembourg; - Lot 9) Portugal; - Lot 10) Sweden. Tenderers may tender for one or several of the ten lots. However, a separate tender must be submitted for each lot and all tenders must cover the entire lot to which they relate. The tenderer must perform the following tasks: - a) Determine the sources of local initiatives which are of interest. Part of the works carried out in the framework of this study may not be directly available in public or private documents or archives; - b) Provide the Commission with recent information/data on all local initiatives, each collected in individual files. The information/data should be given in the language of the relevant country and enclosed with two summaries in English and French, in accordance with the computer models which the coordinator will provide him with. Where applicable, all files will contain at least 17 headings, details of which are given in the tender documents; - c) Provide information on the transfer possibilities of successful local experience; - d) Identify and recommend the most competent national service providers (national or local authority, institution, organization, individual) for the collection and transfer of information/data inspected at the Commission and to advise on methods of following up the programme once the contract has ended, with the corresponding cost. The contract will be for a maximum period of 15 months.
