Monitoring of specific RTD programmes - Call for applications
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a call for applications relating to the annual monitoring exercises for the specific RTD programmes within the Fourth Framework Programme. The Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals or companies for inclusion on the lists of experts for monitoring the specific RTD programmes. The annual monitoring exercises concerned are those for 1997, 1998 and 1999. The aim of the annual monitoring exercises is to monitor progress in relation to the objectives set out for the programmes, and in their work programmes. Applicants must provide evidence of their capacities in the field of activity concerned, and should have held posts of senior responsibility in the public or private sector. In addition, they must also have professional experience in one or more of the following fields: - Research in relevant fields, RTD management and exploitation of results; - Formulation of RTD, demonstration or innovation policies and strategies; - Evaluation of RTD, and analysis and interpretation of scientific data; - Technology transfer and use of RTD results; - International cooperation in the fields of science and technology. To ensure the impartiality of the exercises, applicants must not be, or have been at any stage in the current specific programme, a contractor, member of a programme committee or an expert associated with a committee. Participants in previous monitoring or evaluation exercises, or in proposal evaluation may apply, subject to the above conditions. Each year the Commission will appoint a panel of experts from the lists. The panel will be designed to ensure a fair balance both geographically and between the various research circles.
