The European Commission, DG XV, has published an invitation to tender for the provision of services relating to the generalization phase of the SIMAP project. The SIMAP project, as part of the IDA programme, aims at improving the quality and availability of information about public procurement. A pilot project provides for the electronic collection, processing and dissemination of procurement notices (such as this notice) through standardized electronic forms, electronic mail, electronic data interchange and World Wide Web site. Tenders are invited for the following services: - Software and hardware development to upgrade pilot into a fully operational system capable of supporting all potential users; - Removal, transport and reinstallation of the system at an operational site; - Operational and multilingual user support and help desk services for an initial 12-month period. The Commission reserves the right under Article 11 (3)(f) of Directive 92/50/EEC to award, by negotiated procedure during the three years following conclusion of this contract, contracts for subsequent services of a similar nature to the same contractor.
