Research activities for seismic risk prevention and reduction
The European Commission, DG XII, has published the proceedings of a workshop on "Collaborative European research activities for seismic risk prevention and reduction". The workshop, which took place in Bergamo, Italy, on 9-11 November 1994, provided a comprehensive and state-of-the-art review in the field of earthquake engineering and engineering seismology. It was supported by the European Commission within the context of the Community's specific research programme in the field of Environment and Climate. The workshop proceedings cover the following major topics: - Seismic research needs and trends; - Seismic research for monumental structures and historic town centres; - Seismic risk for lifelines and important civil engineering works.
