The ACTS INFOWIN project has recently produced a new publication in its "Thematic Issues" series entitled "Information Brokerage". This latest INFOWIN publication provides an overview of European R&D in the area of information brokerage, within the context of electronic commerce, focusing specifically on the activities, trials and results of the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Advanced Communication Technologies and Services (ACTS. The publication includes summaries of selected ACTS projects in the area of electronic commerce and information brokerage. Most contributions contain an enterprise model of the Brokerage Service, followed by an architectural/computational description of the projects system, and a final description of the performed trials. Interviews with the ACTS project managers and experts in the field focus on their views on future development paths. "Information brokerage" is targeted primarily at professionals in the field of advanced communication technologies and services, including researchers, consultants, network managers and users. The reader is expected to have general knowledge of Electronic Commerce and telecommunication technologies, but need not necessarily be a specialist.
