Objective
The EPIST project has the objective to boost NMS and ACC participation in IST activities related to eHealth and eInclusion through the implementation of two channels: a virtual one in the form of a pilot portal to facilitate the transfer, exchange and sharing of information as well as contacts among NMS and ACC organisations operating in the field of eHealth and eInclusion and a real one in the form of brokerage events, workshops and technical assistance.
Raising awareness, disseminating information and training will also play an essential role in achieving this objective. EPIST will establish direct relationships with a large number of industrial and research organisations in these countries, to promote IST opportunities and assist NMS and ACC organisations in their participation in IST projects in the areas of eHealth and eInclusion and prepare them for future participation in FP7.
The main activities to be carried in this context are:
- Raising the awareness of NMS and ACC organisations of the technological and market state of the art and forecasts in the field of eHealth and eInclusion
- Appraisal of the capability of NMS and ACC organisations to successfully operate in this evolving market sector
- Identification of the roles that organisations from NMS and ACC can play in IST projects
- Identification and contact of NMS and ACC organisations operating in the sector of eHealth and eInclusion
- Realisation and maintenance of an interactive database on the project web site allowing to optimise assistance given to NMS and ACC organisations
- Awareness and training of NMS and ACC organisations through the organisation of national workshops
- Organisation of trans-national brokerage events and other partner-search activities
- Technical assistance and help desk for NMS and ACC organisations in the proposal and contract preparation phases
- Assessment of results and feedback to the European Commission on the success of NMS and ACC participation
