Project description
Advanced postdoctoral regional research in advanced manufacturing
Focusing on policy support and investments in significant national and regional priorities, the Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) assists technological and practical innovation and encourages private sector investment. The EU-funded ADMIRE project will increase the research and innovation capacity and high-quality human resources of the regions of New Aquitaine and Euskadi in the frame of RIS3, European cross-border strategies, and the research strategy and talent attraction of the Euroregion New Aquitaine – Euskadi – Navarre. The project aims to integrate postdoctoral talent in the advanced manufacturing field and allow 15 experienced researchers to perform their excellent research projects and acquire transnational mobility experience.
Objective
ADvanced ManufacturIng REsearch Fellowship Programme in the Basque – New Aquitaine Region (ADAGIO) is a cross-border Programme aimed at enhancing the research and innovation (R&I) capacity and high-quality human resources of the regions of New Aquitaine and Euskadi in the selected field within their respective Regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3), the European Cross-Border strategies and the Research Strategy and talent attraction of the Euroregion New Aquitaine – Euskadi – Navarre.
ADAGIO is a highly competitive, merit-based fellowship programme aimed at incorporating postdoctoral talent in the area of Advanced Manufacturing, to enable them to conduct their own excellent research projects, in order to produce a positive effect not only in terms of excellent science and talent attraction but also by strengthening the cross-border regional economy and society and promoting international networking.
ADvanced ManufacturIng REsearch Fellowship Programme in the Basque – New Aquitaine Region will bring in 15 experienced researchers to develop a 36 month stay through 2 open calls at international level, over its 60 months of implementation. The fellows will freely decide whether to carry out a 36 month advanced research project in one of the hosting institutions or to combine it with a more applied research path oriented towards market needs, by doing up to 12 months secondments (with a minimum of 3 months) in at least one of the extensive group of highly innovative and cutting edge industrial partner organisations with strong expertise in the programme´s selected specific areas or in another partner organisation of their choice to be added during the implementation of the Programme. The postdoctoral fellows will have a full trans-national mobility experience and access to the research facilities of the organisations partnering the programme.
