AI - OEI - Requirement No. 1 (opens in new window)

Ethics report of External Ethics Advisor:Due to sensitivity of the use of AI as a decision-making tool, an External Independent Ethics Advisor must be appointed to support the beneficiaries to identify the ethical concerns. An ethics report by the ethics advisor must be submitted at M3 with a view to the first ethics check. Details must be provided regarding AI decision-making support tool, and notably on human agency aspects of the involved clinicians. European Commission guidelines on AI can be found at the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/horizon/guidance/ethics-by-design-and-ethics-of-use-approaches-for-artificial-intelligence_he_en.pdf The European Commission Guidance for Ethics Advisors/Boards can be found in the FTOP at the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/horizon/guidance/roles-and-functions-of-ethics-advisory-ethics-advisory-boards-in-ec-funded-projects_he_en.pdf.
