G9-SCIENCE4ALL: The Night of Researchers for Everyone

Project description

Bringing the wonders of research closer to all

In today’s fast-paced world, scientific advancements often feel distant and inaccessible to the general public. Misinformation and misunderstanding are rampant, widening the gap between researchers and society. This disconnect hampers progress and undermines the potential for collaboration and innovation. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme, the G9-SCIENCE4ALL project spearheads the European Researchers’ Night in Spain, part of a broader mission to bridge this divide. Through hosting innovative events like ‘Cancer Awareness Day’ and ‘Green Week,’ it fosters public engagement with science. Moreover, initiatives like ‘Science Week’ and ‘International Day of Women and Girls in Science’ promote inclusivity and gender balance. This project champions Open Science and Responsible Research and Innovation.

Objective

"G9-SCIENCE4ALL will mark our 4th and 5th consecutive years as one of the consortiums responsible for organizing the European Researchers’ Night Spain, as part of an ongoing European project.

The main objective of this project is to bring research and researchers closer to the public, increasing awareness of research and innovation activities while boosting public recognition of science and research education. This is achieved through a series of educational and entertaining events such as the European Researchers' Night and its pre-events (such as ""Cancer Awareness Day,"" ""Ocean's Day,"" and ""Green Week"") as well as the Researchers at Schools (""Science Week,"" ""International Day of Women and Girls in Science"", ""Science Fair"", ""Science4kids"" and ""Circular Science"" activities) initiatives. Our main objective is directly aligned with the European Commission's desire to communicate the core principles and values of the EU, as well as to promote gender balance, inclusiveness, Open Science, and Responsible Research and Innovation."
