The first non-clogging continuous flow reactor technology

Periodic Reporting for period 2 - QFLUIDICS (The first non-clogging continuous flow reactor technology)

Reporting period: 2024-11-01 to 2025-06-30

The production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and fine chemicals in Europe needs to transform its manufacturing methods to remain competitive in a globalized world and to meet the 21st century’s climate challenges. Qfluidics, with its breakthrough liquid-tube technology, addresses this challenge by offering industries the opportunity to shift their production from batch to continuous processes, leading to reduced production costs and a smaller environmental and industrial footprint for users.
With the support of the HE Accelerator program, we have begun the industrialization of our continuous-flow reactor while pursuing developments of relevant use cases for a key family of processes in pharmaceutical production: organometallic chemistry. In doing so, we have demonstrated our technology´s ability to perform key chemical processes that were previously impossible to achieve in continuous flow with conventional technology due to clogging issues. These processes are particularly relevant to explore in flow reactors as they are increasingly being abandoned in batch processes due to safety and quality concerns.
Our technology goes beyond the state of the art, and as confirmed by our FTO (no competitive patent in the landscape), our positioning is disruptive. Our advanced and unique continuous liquid walls flow reactors with handling solids capabilities, zero friction inside the tubes and excellent mixing properties, will revolutionize the world of chemical and pharmaceutical processing, boosting the flow chemistry and the fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals market.
By replacing traditional batch process for flow systems, they can increase efficiency, safety, yields, and higher quality chemical processing at a much smaller footprint. Our breakthrough and proprietary continuous flow reactors with superior performance and scale up opportunities to be applied at industrial level, will significantly disrupt the flow chemistry market and Qfluidics aims for a key player positioning.
