INNOAEROGEL: SUSTAINABLE SORBENT FOR AQUATIC OIL SPILLS CLEAN UP

Objective

Our innovative solution, InnoAerogel, addresses the pressing issue of oil spills, offering a robust paper waste-based material that effectively cleans up oil-contaminated coastal waters and land. InnoAerogel boasts an exceptional capacity to absorb oil while repelling water, ensuring efficient containment and cleanup. It incorporates oil-degrading microorganisms to expedite the biodegradation process, minimizing environmental impact. Its lightweight aerogel composition, with a density of only 20-30 kg/m3, enables swift deployment and agility. With impressive absorption capabilities of up to 50 g of fuel per gram of material, InnoAerogel outperforms conventional alternatives. Its reusability, with the potential for up to 5 uses, coupled with its biodegradable nature, mitigates concerns about secondary pollution. Moreover, the utilization of paper waste as its core material renders it a cost-effective and sustainable solution
