Use of public data aiming to secure partnerships & develop product tracebility

Objective

TRANSITION addresses mainly European SMEs of the manufacturing and traditional sectors with a specific focus on the Textile Clothing industry. The core objective of TRANSITION is to create a "Secure Partnership Building Environment" aiming to gain the confidence of European SMEs and develop the use of public data.

The ultimate goal of the TRANSITION project is to foster both the reliability of Networked partnerships (extended/virtual organisations) and the fight against counterfeiting in the Textile-Clothing sector. This will open a large range of business opportunities mainly for the manufacturers that will recover market shares formerly lost but also for technology and information providers that will extend their market to SMEs thanks to affordable services. In addition, the enlargement process will broaden the European market including SMEs in particular.

One of the main innovations of the TRANSITION project is to capture data and create information on enterprise profiles in view of their "labelling" in a co-operative working environment. Such an environment will provide the appropriate framework for two specific services to be tested in the Textile-Clothing industry. These services will be acting as decision aid tools enabling the creation of a networked community of enterprises as well as a working environment dedicated to the authentication and follow up of the products. The proposed services are:

The SME-Confidence-Service dedicated to an "Online Labelling" procedure based on the available public data in terms of organisation, technical references and financial information coupled with information provided by other organisms in charge of certification or test activities.

The Info-Tracing-Service is dedicated to the network of certified companies. It aims to authenticate the products (fight against counterfeiting) and to trace all the steps of the product development cycle from the creation to the delivery (product conformity, tests and certification).
