Objective
The objective of spotlight is empowering European transport policy by providing them friendly and productive access to most advanced decision-making tools (strategic forecast and evaluation models). The expected achievement is a decision-support system (spotlight/dss) to build on top of existing knowledge (an interactive computer system that helps decision maker utilize data and models in making their decision). The odss is understood as the "mechanism" to close the gap between forefront modelling research outcomes and policy makers.
Therefore, the main planned activity is not the development of new databases or models, but "assembling" existing databases and "bringing" models into an organisational decision-support system (odss) useful for European policy-makers to manage the increasingly complex transport policy issues at European level.
