Objective Background Tradable Renewable Certificate (TRC) systems have been developed in several countries (particularly in Europe, USA and Australia. TRC-systems provide a robust mechanism for tracking and verification and they potentially offer an efficient and flexible economic tool.The TRC-systems that are currently being developed are bottom-up approaches, which are not mutually harmonised.
