New design methodology for industrialised, autonomous and low-energy demand cellular buildings

Objective

The main objectives of this combined project are:
1. To develop a new methodology for the sustainable design and construction of industrialised cellular buildings.
2. To develop new industrialised modules with integrated solar thermal and solar PV components as well as built in energy efficient systems and services. The project will also consider environmental impact of materials.
3. To demonstrate the use of this methodology and these new industrialised modules for engineers and architects in Europe. Two configurations of living habitats will be built.
4. To make the new methodology and the new industrialised and integrated modules commercially available and to demonstrate their cost-effectiveness in the European building market.
