50 Kw Pem Fuel Cell Generator For Chp And Ups Applications

Objective

The main objective is to construct and test a 50kW PEM fuel cell (FC) generator as follows:
- With dual application possibilities (Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS ) systems and combined heat and power (CHP) production)
- With dual fuel possibilities (reformed NG and LPG)
- That later on can be produced at a manufacturing cost of 8,700Euro/kW at a pilot scale production (50-100 generator units)

The UPS market is one of the niches where the current FC prices not are prohibitive for commercial exploitation of the FC technology. Our objectives are therefore to replace the present UP8s by FC driven systems and exploit the FC power generator as a decentralized general CHP generator system.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
