Objective
The project objective is to develop and implement a regional innovation strategy in North-East Region Romania that will contribute to the valorisation of its economic potential, based on an innovation support system. The project has 3 stages of implement ation and it lasts 32 months. A team of 7 experts from North-East RDA will ensure the coordination. First stage has 8 months and it is dedicated to the creation of the organisational structures, building the regional consensus on the project Work Plan an d developing an analysis of the regional economy and trends. The second stage is for 12 months and it is based on analysis of the SMEs needs, of regional supply and structure of research and know-how transfer in the region, developed with the support of survey method and thematic workshops. The last stage of the project has 12 months and it is targeted to the development of the Regional Innovation Strategy, Action Plan and monitoring indicators, approved by the regional actors. An important role of the EU partners (METRON SRL-Italy and West Normandy-France) as well as of the International Process Consultant will be to provide the methodology, contacts and connexions to integrate the existing regional development and R+D+I organisations into the EU net works and to promote the cooperation between regional and EU companies, Technological centres and Universities. RDA West Romania will be used as subcontractor for the experience to develop a RIS project on the regional conditions in Romania. The project will contribute to the Regional Development Plan 2004-2006 specific objective's Strengthening of the business environment in strategic sectors and fostering the regional economic potential by increasing SMEs competitiveness and efficiency. Dissemination of the project results will be ensured through a solid communication strategy, 3 Annual Innovation Forums, Panels for Discussions and dedicated publications.
