HyNoDe is a suite of software modules designed to support multimedia news stories authoring and efficient storage and delivery of news in a personalized manner to the end-users on top of image processing (IP)-based networks (eg Internet), which offers to the service providers effective system and service management facilities for building and maintaining news on demand (NoD) services. The system addresses the ever-growing news delivery market, and specifically the sectors of the publishing industry, news providers, and Internet service providers. Use of HyNoDe system provides the opportunity to consolidate news distribution and thus minimize competition for attention by establishing a stronger brand awareness, as well as sharing the access costs, attracting a larger customer base and achieving economies of scale in the long run. The initial prototype implementation of the HyNoDe system has been completed. This system is used in two different pilot trials with the involvement of real actors.
