Optimiser les conditions du transport des cellules
Le transport d’échantillons cellulaires pose des problèmes liés à diverses conditions susceptibles d’entraîner la perte de précieuses cellules. Des conditions optimales de livraison de matériaux biologiques complexes et sensibles, cruciaux pour la thérapie cellulaire et la médecine régénérative, sont indispensables. Le projet CELLBOX, financé par le CEI,propose une nouvelle technologie pour le transport de cultures de cellules vivantes, de tissus et d’autres échantillons cellulaires. En collaboration avec le projet, l’Institut Fraunhofer a développé un incubateur autonome doté d’un environnement contrôlé. Il peut ainsi ajuster la température et les niveaux de CO2 afin de garantir des conditions d’incubation optimales pendant le transport. La technologie joue un rôle essentiel dans la préservation des cellules en évitant les processus de congélation et de décongélation et en facilitant la récupération des cellules, minimisant ainsi le risque d’altération de la structure biologique de ces dernières.
Objectif
In cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute, we developed an innovative technology for transporting live cell cultures, tissue and other cell-based samples - Cellbox. Cellbox is a self-sustaining incubator with a controlled environment, where temperature and CO2 can be adjusted to ensure optimal incubation conditions. With Cellbox, valuable cells are not lost due to freezing, thawing and recovering cells, thus reducing the risk of changing the biological structure of the cells and maintaining their high quality.
We currently have Cellbox 1.0 ready to go to market: Cellbox Ground for transports on the road and by rail and Cellbox Flight (IATA approved). A future version, Cellbox AT (Advanced Therapy), will fully unleash the potential of live cell transport for the cell therapy and regenerative medicine markets, where increasingly complex and sensitive biological materials are handled, transported and finally delivered to the patient (the scope of the EIC project).
