Periodic Reporting for period 2 - PATHMAKER (An AI-Powered Visual Assistive Design IoT Pathway Platform to implement fast and optimal automated patient pathways and healthcare demand planning projects)
Reporting period: 2023-05-01 to 2024-04-30
1. Smart Process Designer: This component assists the whole process design with the hospital stakeholder’s facilitation a collaborative graphical interface to define all the different aspects of a patient flow project, including the process, application aspects, integration, among others.
2. Smart Infrastructure Manager: A dynamic user interface, internally called “Webmap” has been developed to support online installations showing radiation diagrams of our Bluetooth gateways in real time. Furthermore, AI algorithms have been included to analyse location errors. This web technology has been implemented using Angular.
3. Smart Workflow Manager: A key component that transforms the graphical process representation into an executable business process can be deployed and run in a workflow engine. We have used JBPMN technology to develop this component.
4. Smart Integration Manager: The integration with the hospital information systems (HIS) is performed by these components based on Mirth Connect open-sourced technology. A user-friendly UI is provided to setup all the different semantics, endpoints and vocabularies used by each HIS.
5. Smart Deployment Manager: This block allows that management of each of the technical containers that encapsulate the functionalities represented in each component. Using Docker technology, we can have a modular management and deployment of all these components.
6. Smart Application and Configuration Manager: This is main PATHMAKER configuration interface that will take the inputs from all the previous blocks providing an overall setting-up experience for operators. The final approval of this configuration is eventually transferred to the hospital server to launch the targeted tailored new patient flow service.
One of the most remarkable achievements is the reduction of deployment times by 50%. This substantial decrease will allow MYSPHERA to streamline its operations, delivering projects faster and more efficiently. This improvement is critical in the healthcare sector, where timely implementation of patient flow solutions can significantly impact overall hospital operations and patient care.
The scalability of MYSPHERA is significantly boosted, enabling the company to handle twice as many projects with the same number of staff. This increase in scalability is a testament to the efficiency and robustness of the PATHMAKER project. Additionally, the flexibility of MYSPHERA has been demonstrated through PATHMAKER's ability to design projects for three distinct use cases: surgical blocks, emergency departments, and endoscopy units. This versatility ensures that MYSPHERA can meet a wide range of healthcare needs, making it a valuable asset for various medical environments.
PATHMAKER is hailed as the most powerful solution for designing and deploying real-time patient flow projects in a graphical and collaborative way. The introduction of a new Demand Planner Designer optimizes surgical block capacity by up to 15%, enhancing operational efficiency. The new Real-Time Location System based on Angle of Arrival (AoA) technology offers precision below the meter, providing highly accurate location tracking. Additionally, a new AI functional block enables descriptive analytics, paving the way for advanced data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
PATHMAKER's Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) have been filed, paving the way for a strategic go-to-market approach. This move is crucial for protecting the innovative aspects of PATHMAKER and ensuring its competitive edge in the market. MYSPHERA has also increased its awareness and positioning in the patient flow market through an aggressive marketing campaign. This campaign includes more than 35 significant actions, both online and physical, and a smart inbound strategy. Such comprehensive marketing efforts have raised the profile of MYSPHERA and positioned it as a leader in the industry.
The performance and effectiveness of MYSPHERA have been documented in two published papers, providing evidence of its capabilities and benefits. The published papers can be accessed through the following links:
