Objective
The programme 'Physics is Fun' aims to bring closer to the Society a difficult (and often dull) subject as Physics, using modern tools and visual didactical methods ('toys'). It enters into initiatives of 'World Year of Physics, 2005'.
The initiative is based on previous experience in Italy and in Poland, with numerous editions at regional and subsequently at national level. With present action we plan to bring these exhibitions to the European level.
The outcome of the programme will be: 3 exhibitions with panels and real-objects, open to wide public, 1° at Ecole Centrale Paris, (November 2005) 2° at GIREP (International Research Group on Physics Teaching) Lubljana in Slovenia (September 2005); 3° XXXIX National Congress in Physics in Warsaw, Poland, September 2005 1 CD-ROM on 'Physics and Toys'; (in 4 language versions) and 1 CD-ROM on 'On the Track of Modern Physics' (in 3 language versions) and 1 thematic issue of 'Foton' Journal entitled 'Physics is Fun' (in Poland).
The primary objective is to present Physics as easy and fun, making it understandable and attractive for average-level public. The secondary objective is to rise the social consciousness of Modern Physics, by presenting both achievements and open problems; in pure Physics and Applied Sciences, in non-standard ways.
