Real time decision making in manufacturing

Objective

RIDER addresses the issue of Decision Making in Real Time along the following focused measurable objectives :
- Development of a Decision Making Framework, that can provide the basis for the integration of enterprise wide decision supporting IT applications, and generalisation of the methodology so that it can be applied to a range of industrial sectors;
- Development of a decision making core prototype that can be used as the basis for instantiation to specific production facilities;
- Design and implementation of the core prototype to pilot cases at Pirelli Cable Production and BIOKARPET carpet production facilities.

The project will be implemented following an incremental approach towards the development of the decision making tool that is complemented by the exploitation of existing research and products internationally, and the development of a framework providing specific guidelines for the development and implementation of decision making tools in a wide area of manufacturing paradigms.

The expected impact of the project results is the improvement of the working conditions of the people dealing with every day decisions in the production floor utilising the ability of the tool to provide efficient decisions in real time.

The results of the project will be exploited mainly through its implementation in affiliated organisations of the end user and its inclusion within the product lines of the technology providers.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
