Objective
To develop software to optimise the integration of load management (including pump storage) for intermittent generation other generation (e.g hydro), which is readily transferable to other similar projects. To demonstrate a solution to the technical problem of matching supply and demand and minimising customer electricity costs through the use of innovative technologies. Without this the economics of the scheme would be considerably less favourable.
To pioneer the development of renewable energy supply from an intermittent source in the deregulated electricity market without support in the form of a guaranteed power purchase contracts. To improve the acceptability of wind energy schemes by integrating the community into the project to share in the financial and environmental benefits.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
