Utilisation of waste heat discontinuously arising from steel mills of Eko Stahl Gmbh for power generation by means of A

Objective

The project is focused on a further development of the aquifer thermal energy storage technology in the temperature range>> 70 °C and the utilisation of screw-type steam driven motors for the generation of electric power. The project is aimed at an integration of the different heat systems (intra-plant, district heating) creating so a complex compound between heat sources and heat sinks. The investigations shall form the basis for an optimised integrated system (Demonstration project).

Special Problems to be solved: Technological particularities of high-temperature-completion of wells shallow depth. Managing and monitoring of dissolution and scaling processes. Measures against corrosion. Protection of suitable deep well pumps against the changes in temperature of the fluid arising from short-time storage requirements.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
