The development of a cross cluster best practice platform for entrepreneurial innovation for the technical textile sector

Objective

The objective of the INNOTEX Coordination Action will be to develop a best practice platform for innovation and entrepreneurship for the technical textiles sector by identifying and facilitating the transfer of innovation and entrepreneurship best practice between complementary clusters in the technical textiles domain. From these actions INNOTEX will increase the competitiveness through raised innovation capacity and exposure to innovation opportunities requiring cross cluster competency mixes for new markets. INNOTEX will bring together a supply chain of 5 complementary EU clusters in the domain of technical textiles.

The objectives of INNOTEX include carrying out a SWOT analysis based on a set of factors identified to establish the common framework for the analysis. Benchmarking of the clusters' innovation capacity based on the results from the SWOT analysis will be carried out. INNOTEX also aims to identify the relevant knowledge and best practices on entrepreneurial innovation to be exchanged between partnering clusters. A further objective is to develop joint projects and joint innovative business strategies that identify ways to utilise the clusters' competency complementarities.

Finally, the INNOTEX CA will benchmark the results with selected CA pilot projects to draw from their experiences when developing a model for a best practice platform for entrepreneurial innovation for general-purpose use for other cross-sectoral clusters. The policy recommendations will be based on this general model as well as the experiences harnessed through the INNOTEX project. The dissemination of the results from the INNOTEX project will take place through a number of activities including, 4 national conferences, various seminars and a Final Conference to be held a t the end of the project.
