Objective
The main objective of this project is to increase the research capacities of the National Institute of RD for Optoelectronics (INOE) by developing the remote sensing activities to stimulate its full research potential contributing to the realization of European Research Area as a ”common market for research”. Specific domain (as listed in FP7): This projects addresses to the 6th priority of FP7: Environment (including climate change), more specifically to 6.1 Climate change, pollution and risks, 6.3 Environmental Technologies and 6.4 Earth observation and assessment tools activities. The concept of this project is to put together i) domains of common interest ii) improved research human potential and iii) up-to-date research equipments in order to boost INOE’s participation to FP 7 calls for proposals, amongst its partners from EARLINET and AERONET research networks. The principle is to mobilize human and material resources of highest quality, to reinforce their S&T potential, to expose them to a more international environment and give them the opportunity to work side by side with well established research groups in EU. DELICE project would allow the Romanian Lidar Centre in INOE to make one step forward in its strategy to become a regional (E-SE of European Union) leader in hi-tech environmental research, in particular in laser remote sensing of atmosphere and oceans. The continuous and intense collaboration between the Romanian lidar centre and EU counterparts for the entire period of the project will contribute to the increase of visibility and trust, not only from strategic partners’ point of view but also from national authorities, economic actors and society’s point of view.
