Objective
The project proposal is supporting the development and the visibility of the research excellence of the Brno University of Technology Department of Radio Electronics (DREL) in the area of Advanced Communication Systems and Technologies. Indeed, Advanced communication technologies are seen by the EU as one of the core elements driving Europe to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy. The main goal of the project proposal is to develop DREL as a leading centre in CEE in research, technology and innovation in the area of Advanced Communication Systems and Technologies and by this to foster the integration of DREL into the ICT European Research Area and to contribute to the competitiveness in growth in the CEE region and in Europe as a whole. The project will implement an action plan to achieve the following objectives: - Elaboration of an RTDI Strategy for DREL - Increased number of PhD students by 6 and employment of up to 6 new researchers (2 women) - Increased mobility visits of researchers and the exchange of personnel with EU research organizations and industry - Increased collaboration between Academia and Industry with up to 5 new joint projects to be started each year - Higher participation in training and research seminars - Improvement of up to 6 selected laboratory systems - Improved access to the specialized literature with up to 5 selected journals and databases to be purchased - A scientific conference with international participation will be carried out annually By implementing these objectives the overall contribution of the project would be: - Input to the RTDI capacity building in an EU convergence region - Enhanced participation of Czech Republic in the FP7 and integration into ICT ERA - Increased networking with European research and industry entities - Better career and job opportunities for young scientists - Reinforcing the competitive advantages of Czech Republic
