Objective
The overall strategic aim of this proposal, in keeping with the EU policy, which attaches significant importance to the participation of SMEs in EU R&D projects, is to facilitate and foster the participation of SMEs from the Renewable Energy sector (RES) in the framework programme, with a clear focus on the upcoming FP7.
The strategic approach will be based on: - the identification of innovation potential in SMEs - a "bottom-up" approach in mobilising SME participation - the creation of Interactive European sectoral workshops - a complete guidance and follow-up programme to ensure that SMEs are provided with the proper continuous support and guidance from a panel of experts.
To this end the following operational objectives and goals will be met: - Identification and targeting of SMEs to participate in FIRE. - Preparation of Innovation Audits - Organisation of European Sectoral Workshops. - Promote SME participation in existing and future RTD. - SME Clustering.
