Objective
The Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction (IBIR-BAS) is an ambitious and fast developing Bulgarian research institution, part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).For more than 70 years already, IBIR is developing its scientific excellence within the field of biology of reproduction in both humans and animals. Further, the "reproductive immunology" as a unique field of research has been created and developed within this Institute. Within the ReProForce project, IBIR aims at further strengthening its research capacity in the targeted scientific sectors by means of mobility and knowledge exchanges with excellent research EU institutions, participation and organization of scientific events, hiring of experienced researchers, up-grading of its laboratories and networking with both industry and other research organizations. The project will strengthen the research excellence of the institute and will therefore increase the attractiveness of the scientific career for young researchers in Bulgaria. Further, the project will reinforce the capacity of business and governmental exploitation of research results and cooperation with industry and will build a strong long-term collaboration with research organisations and enterprises from EU and SEE. As a result, the Institute will better integrate the ERA by acquiring also greater visibility and recognition as a promising research center in Bulgaria within the field of “biology and immunology of reproduction”.
