Attention and Emotion in Decision Making

Objective

The general research question concerns directions of attention, how it relates to perceptions of valence and emotional intensity, and its consequences for decision making. The common idea is that people perceive direction of attention and that this affects the valence of the target and the emotional intensity experienced toward the target. This can be based on self perception of directing attention (e.g. the perception that one’s attention is being drawn to some target or event; this is what we started to look at) or it can be based on perceiving someone else’s direction of attention.
