Design and functionality of non linear electrochemical nanoscale devices

Objectif

The long-term aim of this research is to achieve a new paradigm for the construction of artificial associative memories based on the global coupling of oscillators made from non-linear electrochemical-molecular devices of nanoscale dimensions. The specific aims of the research are to develop, both theoretically and experimentally, groups of coupled chemical/electrochemical oscillators of nanoscale dimensions that can be interconnected and interfaced to provide predictable information storage and transfer capabilities.

The objectives of the project are:
- Transposition of known electrochemical oscillatory reactions from macroscopic to nanosized electrodes.
- Synthesis of new redox conformational Negative Differential Resistance junctions (NDR) based on ligand geometry of coordination compounds and investigation of their oscillatory properties.
- Synthesis and study of electron transfer and oscillatory properties of Coulomb blockade nanoparticle arrangements.
