Objective The “European Researcher’s Night in Istanbul 2011: Researchers Among Us” project is an initiative to organize a Europe wide event Researchers’ Night, in Turkey on Friday 23rd September 2010. The Night will be celebrated in a festive atmosphere in Istanbul to strengthen the ties between scientists and public. The Istanbul researcher’s Night will be a part of European wide public and media event to promote careers in research. The implementation of the “Researchers’NightIst” project aims to be a unique contribution to raise public awareness about science and integration to European Science Area.The Researchers’NightIst project aims to bring researchers to the public at large. The Night will be an event that will tackle with the existing stereotypes about researchers. The designed activities of the Night will make the public at large better understand the central role of researchers and the key benefits they bring to society. There will be career corners for young people who aim to add an additional impact to convince young people that research careers are fascinating and to stimulate them to embark on research careers with mobility.
