FLUOROCODE: a super-resolution optical map of DNA

Final Report Summary - FLUOROCODE (FLUOROCODE: a super-resolution optical map of DNA)

Genomic mapping is a method for rapid analysis of genetic information, providing a birds eye view of the underlying DNA sequence without the need for costly and time consuming DNA sequencing. Within the Fluorocode project, novel methods for genomic mapping have been investigated, and this on single molecules and through super resolution fluorescence microscopy. The method has been extended on polymer surfaces, in microfluidic chips and in nanopores. This way, the genetic information can be uncovered with an unprecedented resolution, opening the door to solutions for complex genetic problems, such as pathogen identification or epigenetic analysis.
