Exploitable results
The project will provide a successor service for the TEN-34 IP service, at higher bandwidths, up to 155 Mbps; will carry out the trials of new protocols and technology developments; and will validate the use of Quality of Service (QoS) facilities (in particular bandwidth management in a large scale operational environment) while still handling general IP traffic.
QUANTUM has set up a 155 Mbps SDH ring connecting UK-FR-DE-NL, two 155 Mbps SDH partial rings NL-SE-DE and NL-CH-DE, a 155 Mbps SDH circuit IT-DE, a 45 Mbps SDH link BE-NL, a 34 Mbps SDH link ES-FR, and 10 Mbps capacity LU-NL to be implemented as 5 times 2 Mbps.
