Final Report Summary - GENENOISECONTROL (Controlling stochastic gene expression during development and stem cell differentiation)
This award focussed on the role of stochastic gene expression in stem cells and during development. We revealed that organism have many active mechanisms to dampen stochastic gene expression by using for example feedback regulation and microRNAs. The experiments performed require single cell resolution and many new technologies have been developed with this award to quantify genetic and epigenetic properties as well as gene expression.
