Objective
The CROSSWORKS consortium is a transnational network of two crossborders cooperation models: Helsinki-Tallinn and Eindhoven-Leuven-Aachen.CROSSWORKS aims to improve the effectiveness of regional R&D and innovation policy by cross regional and cross border cooperation, as a long term investment in the process of value creation.
It's focus is on developing and tuning effective policies and has the following key objectives:
- Strengthen R&D-policy on a cross-border level
- Improve R&D investment and capacity in the open innovation ecosystem on a cross-border level
- Exchange of experience and mutual learning in a European context Both the ELAT-triangle and the Helsinki-Tallinn region perform well on R&D.
The level of cooperation is considerable resulting in successful R and D-policies. By applying the policies on a higher scale the positive effects of those policies (increased investment in R&D) will be multiplied. Selecting the 'right' local policy initiatives for up scaling requires gaining an insight in the effects of existing policies. Furthermore, it is desirable to strengthen the cross-border networks and improve the open innovation system, by using the triple helix as an organizing principle. In this way, the effect of R&D-policy can disseminate optimally.
