The development of advanced retro-fit processing technologies for rotational moulding to reduce product cost and processing time and increase surface performance

Objective

The principle objective of this proposal is to develop an enabling process technology to improve the competitiveness of the SME Rotational molding sector in Europe. Through an increased scientific understanding and technological development of the processing stage we will benefit the whole sector and not just a small group of SMEs. Therefore we have chosen Collective Research scheme to improve the competitiveness of a large community of SMEs with the European rotational molding sector, where RTD performers undertake research on behalf of the IAG who retain ownership of the results for the benefit of their members.

With the aid of our partnership we now have a coherent route map to achieve an innovative process change and reduced product cost, both of which offer competitive & environmental benefits. Our Idea will develop a new method for melting the polymer and high tech internal water-cooling system which we will integrate with existing rotational molding machinery.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
