Objective
This project wants to further develop, adapt and test a proven methodology for the assessment of sustainability performance. The methodology is based on the analysis of sustainable value and tries to relate farm performance to the use of different forms of capital (physical, environmental, ecological, human, and social).
The project aims at adapting the methodology for application at farm, sector, regional and cross-national level by combining it with efficiency analysis methods for benchmarking and policy models. Application on different cases and countries will allow to test out the possibilities of the method under different farming and local conditions and to link this method with FADN data possibilities.
In a first stage of the project, possibilities to improve the methodology are screened; next the method is developed and adapted to application under different conditions and for different purposes. A third step consists of screening of data availability and possibilities of the FADN data, while in the final stage of the project the possibilities of the method for sustainability performance and policy analysis at respectively farm, sector, regional and cross national level are tested. The final delivery will be a feasible standard methodology for assessing farm sustainability at different levels.
