Support to the chair of the ERC scientific council 2006-2007

Objective

In the light of the preparation of future European activities in investigator-driven frontier research, to be managed by a newly created European Research Council (ERC), the project aims at supporting and assisting the Chair of the ERC's Scientific Council (ScC) in his diverse responsibilities which include the achievement of efficient and effective functioning of the ScC, its integrated operation together with the ERC's dedicated implementation structure, and effective interfacing with the scientific community, other funding agencies and the political institutions of the European Union.

The project will provide assistance ranging from secretarial tasks to development of policy papers related to the work of the Chair of the ERC Scientific Council for a period of 19 months (2006 - 2007). The project is hosted by Imperial College (UK) and includes the appointments of:
- A Senior Associate, with the title Principal Research Fellow who will provide high level research support and backing for the Chairman;
