Objective
SCIRAN aims at initiating and growing a network of radio producers and broadcasters in the area of research and science. SCIence RAdio Net will develop novel science and research programmes and broadcast the programmes in EU member and associated states and internationally. This science radio network will specifically target young audiences and use new internet radio channels as well as traditional air radios for distribution. SCIRAN will also include young people as producers while ensuring high-quality professional productions. SCIRAN brings together a unique group of actors competent in science policy, radio production, radio and internet broadcast. The project is designed to quickly create impact with a young but also more mature audience through its programmes. More importantly however, the project will a growing broadcasting and production network to ensure pan-European impact and durability.
