Objective
Our SoND proposal targets multi-wavelength solar atmosphere physics with Canary Islands solar telescopes and space missions. This advanced technology rendering high-resolution tomography, spectroscopy and polarimetry will be involved in exploration of small-scale dynamics in magnetic network and its manifestations in fine chromospheric structures. In this project the applicant's experiences in large-volume inversion will be combined with extensive observational and interpretational expertise of the host institution in quest for:
- Small-scale network dynamics;
- Leakage of photospheric oscillations to the chromosphere;
- Nature of the spicules.
The research topic addresses the magnetic interconnection between the photosphere and the outer solar atmosphere, which is far from being understood but arguably influencing the near-Earth environment. The applicant will so continue in research of direct human importance using the modern European solar telescopes and keeping strong linkage to leading re search groups after return to his Slovakian scientific community as a permanent staff member.
