NEW DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING PROCESSES FOR HIGH PRESSURE FLUID POWER PRODUCTS

Objective

The aim of PROHIPP (IP) is to develop, validate and disseminate new knowledge-based and life cycle design methods and manufacturing processes leading to a new generation of high pressure fluid power components for multidisciplinary applications. The focus is in hydraulic cylinders and accumulators, which are the kernel of fluid power systems, and will be requested to accomplish with the European Directives on pressure equipment, safety, environment and quality. An important goal in this project is to increase the knowledge of the technical staff of fluid power industries, machinery manufacturers and end-users, via innovative training activities. Prime deliverables and breakthroughs of the project to support transformation of industry include:
A) New design by categories (DBC) procedures using advanced computational methods based on DBA (design by analysis), life design (promoted by PED-Pressure Equipment Directive), probability risk assessment and probability design methods).
B) Advanced materials such as ceramics, thermoplastics, and enhanced ductile iron castings. Enhanced seals, bladders and surface treatments targeting towards zero leakage, and chrome free coatings. Salt bathnltrocarburizing to improve wear resistance, fatigue strength and corrosion resistance. Environment-friendlyoils.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
