Multimodal elearning system based on simulations, role-playing, automatic coaching and voice recognition interaction for affective profiling (MYSELF)

Objective

The MySelf project is meant to emphasise the experiential training by developing and validating a multimodal learning platform based on vocal recognition, role plaving via web and collaborative learning. The innovation will be constituted by the use of the affective computing and recognition of the user's emotional state, In addition, the platform will be designed and validated for on-line fruition; the focus is on the enichment of the simulations and the affective computing methodologies traditionally carried out in didactic classroom with the recognition of user's emotions through his learning path and systematic distance learning based on Internet. The goal is, in fact, to expand the potentialities of e-learning and of multi-user towards the implemen tation of inter activity standard and on-line learning typical methods of simulations. The multimodal Interface will be developed considering the technical chain of the tool: microphone (voice), monitor (vision), earphone (hearing), cooperation (emotional state). An extensive implementation of training and learning methodologies based on the experiences ofRTD Performers and some SME proposers, coupled with appropriate IT solutions, developed by high-skilled partners, will put the basis for the final too l. Furthermore, considering the great potentiality of mobile technologies, it will be implemented a task aimed at the PDA fruition of some func.tionality of MySelf tool. The project MySelf, by taking an important step forwards the state of the art, than ks to the effort of new methodologies and tools, will ensure addressing of several EU policies and main programmes: eEurope, EQUAL and integrates the gender dimension because of its own nature; during the project the women effort will be strong. Moreover, the consortium is composed by 3'partners of the new EU Countries (2 Polish and 1 Estonian) The project will be developed concerning two main different targets: the social (paramedical field, disabled people) and the profit (financial field, economical) on e. The translation in several languages and the validation of the prototype by testing the MySelf tool by 2 End Users in 2 different EU Countries, will perform the right exploitation, giving a wide distribution and achieving a good visibility of both to th e tool and the consortium.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
