Aegean Innovation Relay Centre

Objective

The primary objective of IRC-EGE will be to assist and advised the Aegean region industries to improve their abilities by upgrading their technologies trough the adopting of know-how originating from EU RTD activities. It will use the IRC Network, CORDIS, EUREKA and ESA to identify technologies with the potential for exploitiation in the Region and pro- actively assist them to mach indentified local needs with European offers by disseminiation of tehcnology profiles and by partner search. In addition, targe ted work will be done to determine innovative technologies emerging from regional industry and academia and assist them to formulate their offers on the web. IRC-EGE will take all the necessary measures to ensure that TOs and TRs produced will be of high standard and genuinely innovative. As a complementary activity, requests from regional companies which are outside the defined tasks of IRC-EGE will be signposted to appropriate network players, such as NCP network, other Turkish IRCs or local EU netwoek organisations. Correct communication channels such as preparation of information packages, links on the web site will be established with these organisations to inform componies about their services. In addition, appropriate follow-up mechnanism will be developed to monitor the outcome of signposting. All these activites will be carried out within the context of Europe as a whole, in collaboration with IRC network and related key players of EU Research and Innovation Platform. IRC-EGE will constantly end eavur to improve its standards of performance by learning from the experiences of established IRCs. During the duration of the project, core staff will participate in training activities offered by other IRCs and the Central Unit. IRC-EGE will accomplish these objectives within the management structure of its consortium partners whose areas of expertise and influence are totally complementary, creating an undefeable synergy.
